Françoise Herbiet holds a master’s degree in labour sciences from the UCL and a certificate in industrial relations and trade union studies from the Middlesex University London. She worked as a human resources counsellor for the Brussels-Capital Region and the Belgian Technical Cooperation.

She has been head of human resources for the Federal Planning Bureau since 2002.
